My journey Here…

At the age of 15 I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, which was so severe I suffered years of debilitating pain, surgery and despair.

I became trapped in my condition and unable to find any meaning in my life outside of my illness. It was at my lowest point that I realised that only I could change my life:  only I could change how I felt, how I saw myself physically and emotionally, and how I experienced the world around me.

So I embarked upon a journey of self-discovery. For the last 29 years I have nurtured and embraced a holistic and spiritual approach to my health and wellbeing, exploring different ideas and techniques from teachers such as Chris Griscom, Ken Wilber and  Eckhart Tolle and putting those teachings into practice in my daily life. I have walked on hot coals, lived on the river ganges, meditated in the desert and by the ocean. I have lived a full and rich life in spite of my having a debilitating condition.

Just over ten years ago, I discovered the practice of Mindfulness. This practice has now become an integral part of my daily life. It calms and anchors my mind through difficult times and allows me to enjoy life in a way I never thought possible. I have leant to accept myself as I am, with all the good, bad and the ugly! And I am healthier than I ever imagined.

My Mission...

I am deeply committed to helping people on their journey towards self-discovery. There is a way to live in this life where we can overcome adversity and deal with struggle without feeling like we're drowning. I can help you to surf the waves of adversity, to open to new adventures and new possibilities where once there seemed to be none.

My name is Stanter Kandola...

I am an experienced freelance mindfulness practitioner based in the Huddersfield area who believes life doesn’t have to be a struggle. If that seems too simple, let me tell you more…

I love helping people (just like you!) to discover their own unique rhythm; to become fully alive, present and connected to those around you and with what you are doing. I offer both courses and one to one consultations to get you started on your mindfulness journey.

Together we will explore ways to bring our mind and body into harmony through practices such as meditation. Your expertise with the practice will develop using simple, step-by-step mindfulness techniques that will allow you to achieve tangible results in your life.

I’m an insightful, intuitive and playful teacher with a passion for clarity and purpose. Mindfulness provides the structure from which I can help you cultivate inner strength and freedom – becoming solid in your deepest aspirations and free from your fears, misunderstandings and suffering.

Through Mindfulness you will discover a life of choice and purpose, no longer living on autopilot at the whim of your emotions and thoughts.

Just a little history about my work…

In 2012 I started professional training with Breathworks and I am now a fully Accredited Breathworks Mindfulness teacher. I undertake regular supervision as part of the codes of practice to maintain my accreditation.

This year I trained with Mindfulness in schools project to teach their .b  10 week programme to children

Recently I left my post as a Senior Health Trainer for Kirklees council.  In my role I managed a small team of Health Trainer as well as supporting individual clients with their long term health conditions to apply a more holistic approach to their health and wellbeing. I played an instrumental role not only in developing the service and the quality of the work delivered by individual health trainers, but also in the reputation the service has in the broader health and social care context.

As part of the Health Trainer service I have played a lead role in the pilot Pain Clinic, working in partnership with GPs and physiotherapists in supporting people with chronic pain. The excellent results from this joint project were shared at a national level and the service was nominated for an outstanding performance award.

I bring my knowledge and skills learned over the many years to my Mindfulness practice, working successfully with clients with a whole range of health conditions including ME, chronic pain, depression, stress and multiple sclerosis, to name but a few.

At the end of the day, there’s nothing more rewarding to me than seeing a client far surpass their own expectations of what’s possible for them.
